Finding Poplar Mouth Car Park Axminster from the South
Enter the town from the A358 from the A35/Seaton etc.
Once you arrive in the heart of the town head towards the main High Street and up towards The George public house which will be ahead of you.
Stay on the A358 towards Chard, so doing a left and right around the pub.
The car park will be found on the left around 100 yards up the road after the pub.
Finding Poplar Mount Car Park (From the A35)
Leave the A35 from any junction signed to Axminster or the A358.
Once you arrive in the heart of the town head towards the main High Street and up towards The George public house which will be ahead of you.
Stay on the A358 toward Chard, so doing a left and right around the pub. The car park will be found on the left around 100 yards up the road after the pub.
(Note: If you come in to Axminster off the A35 past the leisure centre along Lyme Road you will miss the town centre and the George pub will on your right just after the NCP car park. You should turn sharp right there.)
Finding Poplar Mount Car Park (From the North)
If coming from the north as you enter Axminster stay on the A358 towards the heart of the town and enter the 20 MPH zone.
As you get in towards the town centre you will see the small hospital on your right.
The car park is just after this on the right hand side opposite The United Reform Church.
How much does it cost to park at Poplar Mount Car Park
The charge is 50 pence for every 30 minutes you intend to stay.
Once you have paid £3 then you can stay for 24 hours.
Parking is free after 6 p.m.

No caravans or commercial vehicles.
Motorhomes parked in here must leave the car park by 6 p.m. and there is no overnight sleeping.
There is no height restriction over the entrance.
The car park is in an area of the town undergoing some re-developement (correct 2020).
Getting in to Axminster town centre
Leave the car park and turn right at the main road.
Stay on the pavement on the right hand side and cross Victoria Place. Take care as this is a busy part of the road with some traffic going up the A358 and some turning off down Victoria Place.
You are now at the top of the town centre.
